Some will enter tired
Some keep on in grief
Some embark with excitement
While some ache for relief
Though we wish for happy
We ache for something more
Our hopes are unrequited
Our burdened hearts
Tired and sore.
You are strong in our weakness
All your resolutions true.
You lay good works out before us,
And give us power then “to do”
This year holds beauty from ashes
When we look from our hands to you.
O Lord, we are so grateful
For a year that is new.

Liturgy for the New Year
"Look Up" New Year Devotional and Reflection is LIVE on my website. The purpose of this devotional study is to frame your year-end reflection and new-year aspirations in Scripture and God's character. Prompts, verses, and questions are organized to look back at God's promises and His faithfulness in our lives and look forward with hope and expectation at what He will do (even through trials and pain.) There will be praise and lament, as well as Bible study and artwork for reflection. Some will read this devotional with excitement for the new year, and others will read with weary hearts. My hope is this devotional has space and function for both.
This digital download includes:
- The "Look Up" Study and Reflection (42-page PDF) in three formats: full-color, print-friendly (Black & White,) and mobile version, as well as 8"x10" PDFs of the New Year artwork.
- Study includes original artwork, poetry, scripture, study prompts, reflection questions, and goal-setting templates.
